Tutor: Claire Devergier …Clare works primarily in oils and watercolour and occasionally with acrylics and mixed media. As a landscape painter, her inspiration is the landscape itself. The Course..Painting is for many a wonderful hobby or occupation. Watercolour in particular, is a very challenging medium and although this course includes other water based media it will be taught from a watercolour basis.
The course would suit everyone who has a basic knowledge of their medium, a desire to improve basic painting skills and perhaps change existing working practices that are proving unsatisfactory.
We all have our own painting demons and there will be time on this course to look at individual problems and work through them.
Watercolour and other water based mediums will be covered in this course which will look at all the crucial elements involved in producing good paintings right through from the planning stage to the finished work. Topics will include developing good colour mixing skills, simplification of material, understanding the importance of tone and creating good compositions.
