Frances was a leading activist in the nineteenth century. She advocated for rights for women, was a prominent anti-vivisectionist and social reformer.
This course will explore aspects of her life, work and writing, appealing to people familiar with the life and work of Frances Power Cobbe and those who wish to find out more about this remarkable woman. We will look at the many facets of Cobbe’s diverse and energetic life and career.
Tutor: Dr Greta Depledge With a BA (Hons) in English Literature, an MA in Victorian Studies and a PhD (Female maladies, medical practice and literary culture 1860-1900) Greta has many years’ experience in teaching, tutoring and lecturing roles in a wide range of HE and FE establishments.
